A friend of mine and his wife are enjoying his new Meridian Speakers. So are his critters. Thought you might get a chuckle. P.S. The grills are off because otherswise they will use them as scratching posts.

Our cats loved my 557 amps, but with the lack of heat coming from the speaker tops they thankfully leave them alone

I wonder if Meridian moving towards no full length grills has anything to do with cats wanting to use them as scracting posts.

I always get nervous when I see our cat taking an interest in my speakers. It stems from a traumatic experience I had some 20 years ago. My then girl friend (now my wife) asked me to look after her kitten full-time which led to the installation of a catflap in my small house. I had a nice new pair of Monitors Audio MA4s at the time on low stands in the living room. I came home from work one day to be greeted by a pungent smell in the house. And there on both my MA4 grills were two large, dark oval stains. Yep, the large, black and white tom cat from next door had paid us a visit and p**sed on both of my speakers.
Main system - Sources (Kodi-HTPC, Vero 4k, FireTV, Sat) into Trinnov Altitude 32 (8-16) (+Roon), Trinnov Amplitude 8 amp & Vivid Audio (Giya G3, V1.5) and REL Stentor III speakers. Others: F80 + Raspberry Pi and other Pi systems.

The winner! Presumably this is why Cat 5P never made it over Cat5E.
Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

These are not my speakers. User uses a multizone Sonos and this was taken by his wife that uses the volume control on the Sonos. So 82 has no reference. I like cats, but I would never own one for reasons like this
