I have (hopefully) now sourced a 2nd D1500 - I plan to try it as per VK's suggestion. This has however got me thinking about my next move............
Is it possible to run (DSP) stereo subs with the xover in the processor with another (analogue or DSP) sub handling the LFE channel?
Can a room be over woofered relative to the other speakers? (mine is 5m x 6m) - a m2500 just failed to sell at 400 on the bay which is partially motivating my musings.
Is another pair of DSP33's going to give me a better 'bang for my buck' than more subs?

Your 568.2 can handle three subs. The legacy MConfig program describes them as left, right and centre subs, but I'm not sure what the bass flow is. When you do this with the G68, left front bass goes to the left sub, right to the right sub, centre to the centre sub, but I don't know where LFE bass goes.

I'd try your 2x subs for the time being! I've now got two REL Strata IIIs, but it's very early days. I like having more bass though, as I'm listening at higher bass levels than I did when I had one sub.

Related to this question...does anyone know if you can now run 2 or 3 Meridian subs with a 7.1 config? Last time I checked this was not a possibility in Mconfig.

No, you can't run them discrete. You can daisy chain subs on the same channel, of course.
