George, THANK YOU for a really big effort. smile I have not had a chance to try this yet- I want to do it when I have about 90 minutes so I can have time to do the change and then do an a-b.

Best regards,
Jerry

I just uploaded V0.5 Beta.

It will flag center channel if it's Center EQ is not set FLAT and if that pushes further clipping.

Hi George,

Many thanks for the software and a fantastic website - I would have been totally lost without it.

I had a go and managed to up my left and right speakers to 3db, music seemed to be fine but films didn`t sound as good so I had another go.

Once loaded my centre speaker defaults to a 5000VC, whenever I change it into a 5500HC the centre speaker defaults to 0db in the software and I can do nothing about it. So I have left the system thinking I have a 5000VC does this matter?
Kind regards

Shaun

Only difference between those I'm aware of is 5500HC only comes in 24/96 and 5000VC comes in both flavors.

My software won't care which you have.

If you change speakers or levels in MConfig you need to run my tool again because MConfig will snap it to 0dB if it's above 0.

George, if I wanted to keep my surround channels could I use a combination of calibration settings- eg- figure the offset from the front channels and tweak there to adjust for the +3 on the fronts and then use settings in the dsps to further adjust if needed?

This has been answered in the wiki.

Geesh you'd think I'm telling you to cut capacitors or something.

Try it, if don't like it, put it back.

You are right George- it is a case of my over thinking it while not actually doing it.

Hi,

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I can't get any of the beta versions to run in XP. Everytime I start it, the program quits and I get the "send error report message".

Am I just stupid, there something I should have done beforehand?

Hi Neill,

Is your XP OS full patched up?
I forget now, but George's program IIRC requires a net framework ?? installed.

Carl
