When i asked the Sooloos video question back in Oct 09 to the Meridian marketing director at the manchester hifi show, he said there were obvious licensing issues with video support on Sooloos.
I understand you need a license to offer Bluray HD audio decoding. But if you purchase a Bluray or DVD, surely copying it to hard drive is same as copying a CD to hard drive. i.e, as long as its for your own use, for greater convenience, and the original disc can be a backup. But i guess its a little more complicated than that.
What i dont understand is if Popcornhour or Dune can sell mediaplayers, then why cant Meridian. The content on the player is the responsibility of the owner, not Meridian? I think the future seems to be hard drive based content on media players, not silver disc spinners.
