GP What also doesn't make sense is that your M lead off the AC12 only powered one speaker ( with the second speaker using an S lead off of the first) and the BNC connector in place of the M lead powered up both speakers.

I sent tech support M USA an email about the issues over M and S lead comms. Will report when I hear back from them.
Anyone else care to share their experiences with the hook up of the AC12 to slave speakers--that would be appreciated.

My dealer is coming over wednesday with a different AC12 and has also booked time with M support while he's here to see if the issues can be resolved. I'll report back with the results

i only unpacked a AC12 from its box. In real live it is smaller than i thought from the picture. Until they finish my room i cannot test anything here.
I need to hook up 3 speakerlink front speakers (5200) and 4 non speakerlink side/back speakers (3100).
The manual is not to clear to me. I sort of assume every speaker pair comes as master/slave.

Just wondering, does the AC12 come with any cables?

Jaco,
I suspected this would be the case, thanks for confirming.
Carl.

Success - after talking to M the result is:
* Slave speakers need to connect via an M lead to the AC12 (they suspect that my M -lead was duff in that it powered on only 1 speaker).
* If you have embedded S5 cables the best option is to hack off one of the DIN plugs from the lead and replace it with a BNC (this is what I did) which you then connect to the M BNC on the AC12
Time to get the soldering iron out guys

Amazing!!!..................Infuriating...........................and Very Frustrating
In my case, I will need to pay an additional 1,600 for four of these in addition to the 6,500 for the V6 Trade Up
And for that, I am obviously getting a product that Meridian themselves have never even really tested, or else it would have been obvious to them that the Comms connection wasn't right for existing installations
As I've said before, >>95% of DSP's are NON-Speakerlink.................And Meridian's solution is to offer a box which they oh so obviously never tested and sounds like a complete after thought
Screwing up on Data Sheets and Manuals I can live with. Screwing up by not designing and offering a proper 4 by SPDIF Card Output for the 861v6 is something completely different
As one of Meridian's staunchest supporters around here, Colour me Disillusioned

+1, I think. Just a guess, but someone must have decided that it's in M's long term interest to get speakerlink in the field now rather than support SPDIF. From our view, it's the wrong decision but as true believers we accept compromises new, high end or deep pocketed customers would reject. JimK
