You may want to hold off on 1.08. I've had some issues with audio splat across all DSP speakers.

I'm having audio & video drop out on 1.05 & 1.08. Went back to 1.04 and no problems.

Foz,

This is pretty much the reverse of what a lot of us on here have found regarding the 1.05 update. This release seems to cure the "no video" issue.

We don't yet know for certain about the stability of 1.08.

Malcolm,

It is not the no video problem requiring a hard reboot to fix. I get video and audio but the picture will flicker for a second or two and at the same time the audio drops out. This occurs repeatedly through out the movie. It happened on 1.05 and now on 1.08.

I suggest contacting Meridian. My guess is that you have a hardware issue, not a software/firmware issue.

What kind of DSP Speakers do u have ? Speakerlink or non Speakerlink.
Please all that post problems note your setup - if this is hardware or software communication issue
we might be abel to find a commune tread.

I have now updated to V1.08 on my G68/G98/HD621 with analogue speakers.

I have not yet had any issues with no audio/video or noise switching between sources. If anything, it all works more slickly than before. Is it my imagination that the handshake is transmitted faster?

I have also checked audio only with the HDMI sink turned off and this is also fine.

Malcolm, I've just installed a HD621 with version 1.07 pending comments here about possible problems with the latest version. My dealer got 1.07 from Meridian America. But would you mind if I ask for more info or a pointer to other info re HDMI sink? Does this allow audio only without video output? Dealer has suggested a Geffen box which does the handshaking and allows TV to be off while Oppo/HD621 plays...but I hope your message means there's a standard way. Thanks JimK

HD621 can play music without having the TV/Projector on. You don't need another appliance for it.
