There are some interviews with Panasonic at CES over on AVForums. The interviewer asks whether they are using Kuro panels and gets a very coy reply!

Yeah, Panasonic took on the Kuro team when Pioneer stopped making panels last year.
It will be interesting to see if the new Panasonics have the PWM noise that the Kuros suffer from, fingers crossed they use different power supplies, I would take a slightly raised absolute black over that noise as that is the think that hides the finest details in the image.

This weekend I auditioned the Pioneer LX52 against the Denon 4010UD.
The Denon (with ABT 2010 chip) is a little better regarding blu-ray and really better for DVD playback.

Cheers,
Bob

I still think it has the best image from DVD.

Could you post some information about the Philips 963 with and SDI output and a Crystalio 3100 scaler? What the price though?

Thanks,

Bob

I meant the Crystalio VPS-2300 not the later 3100, that is still very expensive and although better with HD I still think SD DVD looks better with the original 2300 unit.

You can pick it up for around 3-400 now, and SDI modded Philips DVD players for under 150.
