Is it not possible that the alleged discontinuation of disc spinners may have some substance in light of Bob's teaser that they are working on new stuff - that somewhere between the two lies the real truth of the matter?

I suspect that active development on the DVD players has ceased (with resource re-deployed to Sooloos), but that the players remain in the catalog. No real shocks there. I think it's a fair bet that Sooloos will become Meridian's audio and video server vehicle.

No.

George, for the benefit of newer members (of whom there have been many lately), a word of explanation as to why not, might be helpful.

Cheers

Good point George (R). I'd suggest for a start that we rarely do anything with the sticky Q&A thread that already exists

https://www.meridianunplugged.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=67617#Post67617

I'm not sure that threads are the best way to handle Q&A either as they get so cluttered with other commentary.

Hello Bob

Great news!

Glad to hear that you are recovering your health.

Glad to hear that Allen has not retired so Meridian will continue to benefit from the timeless style and elegance that he brings to his designs.

Thank you very much for the clarifications and news.

Further contributions here will always be appreciated and welcome.

Agreed. Perhaps a simple 1.2.3 . no more than 3 questions per person without any superfluous dialogue would do ?

There is so much going on now and in the near future that any greater clarity can only help Hikers and M alike .

Or they could provide a blog on their own website, and provide pertinent information there (like Arcam) - or, they could offer a weekly Q&A session on their website similar to B&O.

I think a thread as such is the wrong vehicle. A blog or simple factual statements with no direct dialogue would be a huge advance on where we are today. There's a difference perhaps between what would be posted on a shop-window M website and what might be posted here
e.g. the level of technical content acknowledging the knowledgable users on HH are different to a casual browser on the main M site.

I believe it would also help the dealers too.

Rgds,
Nick
