I certainly apologize as it is was not my intention

I made the common mistake (which I usually try and avoid) of entering text into the Open Box on the Thread screen rather than doing what I usually do, which is to hit the "Reply" button to the person I was responding to. In this case, I was responding to Marbach's original question

All I was saying is that CinemaSquid had a lot of useful information on Bit Depths and Bit Rates than I hadn't seen anywhere else.

I've also found it very useful to pinpoint the version worth buying. For example, the European version of "Shawshank Redemption" does not have a lossless soundtrack, whereas the US one does. Likewise, some of the Euro discs will have 7.1 DTS-MA 24/48 High Bit Rate Tracks, whereas the US one will only have a 5.1 TrueHD 16/48 Lower Bit Rate one. And these type of discrepancies happen a lot more than we think.

I think this site does the best job of centralizing that data. You can enter e.g. "Apocalypto" and see which disc from which Region has the best Picture and Audio quality

I've also found it useful as a central location for Reviews to help identify whether the disc is worth investigating or not

As for the Bitrate Charts, I have found them useful for pinpointing which Scene in the movie has the highest bit rate. This in turn can be a good test of how well your equipment can cope with that. You would have to take a cross section of scenes though
