Hi Andy
I'd caution against running any more than two largish DSPs through a mains conditioner. Unless designs have changed markedly in the past couple of years, I suspect that most will run out of steam if pushed further than two. I know that they shouldn't in theory, but the resultant sound may tell a different story.
How about building in a dedicated fuse box for your AV mains points around the house, with dedicated spurs supplying each? The added electrician time isn't going to be huge if they are refitting or installing new wiring anyway. Oh, and get a dedicated earth line from said fuse box out to an external earth rod. You can do that in addition to the normal earthing requirements...I have a heavy duty "cooker" isolation switch which can toggle between spike+standard earth or spike alone. The latter sounds far better.
You might want to have a word with Mark at the Missing Link. He's had experience of adding a heavy duty transformer to isolate the mains for his kit. He suggested that to me (with no sales benefit to himself I might add) but I chose not to go down that route (as it couldn't be distanced too far from the listening room, and the local supply has a habit of making transformers hum!)
Cheers
George
PS If you or an electrician are working behind walls or under floors for new wiring, it may be a good idea to wire the house with CAT5 points (or whatever the current spec is) for the plethora of networked devices which are around!
