A quick search found this. I think they're pretty easy to come by, I couldn't tell you what is more popular. Steve.

I use an acoustically transparent screen, a 100 inch Kiyuichi and very nice the picture is too. Honestly there is not a great deal of difference with the screen down in front of my DSP7kVC. p.s. I thought Screen Research was French????

azazel,
as I mentioned before I use the HTM2D (1 speaker, not 2). It is located just below the screen and tilted upwards so that it points right to my ears. I have no problems with that setup as it sounds just fine and voices etc. are not pulled downwards as you might fear.
A negative for acoustically transparent screens is (besides the price) that the pixel structure from the projected image overlays with the "holes" in the screen. This may lead to unwanted image effects/interferences.
Why don't you try placing your speakers before buying the screen. Place a single center speaker below the area where the screen would be, tilt it upwards and check how it sounds. Might save you a lot of trouble and money.
Cheers, Thomas

Well, our screen research screen came from the states but you never know, they may be French! The screen is actually a fine weave of special material. Gives the appearance of being flat and solid until you take a closer look. It is not perforated. I imagine there are many ways to solve the problem but I imagine this is the more expensive way. Certainly looks beautifully made.

I wont be buying an excessivly expensive screen, so it wont be accousticly transparent. Steve, "This is worse with horizontal set ups than with vertical set ups. Do a internet search on MTM (midbass, tweeter, midbass) centre 'speakers, you'll get lots of information on why they aren't ideal." This suggests that the B&W htm1 is not an ideal design, where the 2 way htm2 is better. Although the htm1 is bass, mid, bass and tweeter on the top. I happen to own 2x matrix htm and 2x matrix 805V which look like this http://image.blog.livedoor.jp/pastel_piano/imgs/e/8/e8f15339.jpgI will use them as rears and side rears onceI get a center speaker thats comparable to my N802. On a side note, I have owned B&W matrix 801 s3, and they sounded great, in some ways better than my N802 but not looks.

I cannot comment on the speaker itself, but my advice is to have a center speaker (and also surround speakers) matching the front speakers. As I wrote before I "HAD TO" upgrade my center to the new one with the diamond tweeter after switching from the 803 to 803D. If you don't want to spend much more money then maybe you can trade in all your current speakers for a complete set where the sound and dynamics are matched all around. Just my 2 cents, Thomas

Doesn't look like a "kit hunt" thread to me - anymore than anyone elses threads seeking advice are. But here we are in the Restaurant. It would therefore seem appropriate that we start offering our body parts to readers. Oh well. That's perhaps not appropriate, no one fancy a nice rib? Particularly tasty if I don't say so myself.
Az, I wouldn't add a Meridian centre. As NutFlush said and I have to agree, keeping the tonality consistant across the front 3 is vital. Also, I wouldn't worry too much about the above and below centres. You have the speakers, so go for it. Run them both of a 557 and then when you're able to get a big B&W centre, you can bridge the 557 and you're away!
I'm sure it'll sound fantastic. Keep us posted.
