now on to my Q: i have an exactpower EP15A which is essentially a glorified surge protector (with a 40cent fuse) and it is labelled as a regenerator -- does anyone know if this EP15A hinders DSP 8Ks? It is plugged directly into dedicated 20A but unfortunately i only have one outlet and 9 pieces of equipment for it.

I don't believe an ExactPower is a regenerator. It is more like a power corrector. It probably is not limiting current to your 8000's.
