I humbly suggest that it is difficult to start a great journey with the entire goal in mind. Better to start with the first step: How do I afford the first two 8k's? IMHO that gives you the most bang for the buck and the rest is optional when and if the opportunity comes.

By the way one of my motivators for the 8k's was the elimination of the sub. Bob really is right that the sub belongs in the speaker itself. Think of all the money you will save by selling the sub.

PM me for acoustic treatment pdf book if you'd like.

Thanks for the offer. I like reviewing anything I can get.

I've done superchuncks bass traps in the four corners of the room, absorption on the back wall (huge improvement there!), absorption at the reflection points on the ceiling, and diffusion at the side wall reflection points. All of this reduced the RT60 at all frequencies to below 0.4. The problem I have is that the room is built to be relatively sound proof which means the bass energy is reflected back into the room. I have a pair of subwoofers that I am using to cancel some of the peaks in the bass region. It's always a work in progress but it's fun.

Bill

Took me a moment to work out what the funny pixelation on the far left speaker is!
