I totally agree. I didn't want to say it directly because I DON'T know how safe it is (between Gary's mod, not knowing what an Oppo normally does and 220V single phase I'm not familiar with). But I can almost guarantee your right and that will remove it. Now as to a long term SAFE fix I don't know. It may be perfectly safe to lift the ground on the Oppo. And I certainly would try it to confirm the source of the problem anyway.
