Well there you go.
Per Chris' prompting in the sputtering DSP33 thread, I upped the depth from +0.5 to +1.0 then did the width up and down changes while listening to something loud and bassy on MTV. Result; a subtle but repeatably detectable change as the width scale hit 0.9/1.0. Sounded better on the widest setting with the bass clearer and more precise, I guess becuase it is being handled by the DSP5000 (set to large) rather than the DSP5000C centre (set to small).
Over to the rest of you to experiment further.
In the spirit of Spinaltap, I would like to confirm that I am not involved in the corrupt theft of a global sport.

That's what most of us expect to happen. Good to know we're not going mad. As the 565 hasn't been updated for quite some time the code error (assuming that's what it is) isn't present in your setup.

I played with my G68 Trifield last night (on a single track) and could detect no difference between width=0 and width=1.5 (and that was with my ear next to my left front speaker).

I played around with Trifield also, width=0 and width=1.5 did nothing. I can also configure rear speakers on Trifield, it was also useless, can hardly hear anything from the rear speakers on Trifield.

For me increasing width from 1.0 to 1.5 increase considerably some king of bass boost as well as some subtle delay effect. With strong mono at the center channel I like to increase the width to conpensate, but with most modern music that is mixed full at high levels, decreasing width is almost obligatory imho.

So... It works with the 565 and 561, but not the G68. What about the 861?

VK,
I've got an all DSP 861 setup and I can not hear any change in the sound field regardless of the material being played when switching from min to max width settings.
Regards Carl.

Anyone got Rhonda Wilson's email address? She's the person to look into this.

861 is the same as G68. It has the same audio processing firmware and it was on the 861 I had started a thread on the same topic eons ago. Last time I think it worked correctly was 561/568.1

Can someone try a 568.2/568.2MM with 2.12 firmware. i.e. Not the 2.5 beta firmware.
