There is a way via RS232 to toggle G-Seried / 800 "display" with the command "di" (Fn+Display). Emulates the MSR+ What I want to do, is to direct reach the "blanked" VFD display with nothing showing. via a direct command( rs-232 ). I do think there is one command, and I think I have read it in a paper. But I can't seem to find it after 2days of browsing the web.

I have the same problem.
There is a RS232 display command like the button on MSR+. So it only shifts through the various display step, no discrete on/off.
Ofcourse you can make a command for 'off' : 3x Display, so you end up in 'blank' and one commando for 'on' : 1x Display, but this does not work when Dolby Digital is inputted, as this adds an extra display step (for Dialog Normalization).
So currently when I switch on the G68, I immediately use 3x Display command, because in my case the G68 starts up in Trifield mode.

Ah yes, I think you're right. They're the only discreet display-based (OSD or front panel) commands that I can think of though.
