It seems that the second-hand value of 568.2mm, not to mention their earlier brethrin including the 565, must have risen signifcantly as a result of the processor trade-in offer.

The going price for a 565 was 250-350. But IIRC is was worth somewhere between 500 and 800 in a trade-in for new G6x+HD621.

So between now and September 30th the going price of older M processors will be significantly higher than before. And the corollary is that the second-hand price of recent M processors must be lower. A G61R offered second-hand at typically 2,500 or G68 at typically 3,500 can be had new at close to those numbers with an old 565 as trade-in.

Whether this is good on not of course depends on what you have in hand and what you want.

But at some point there will be a glut of traded-in 56xs on the market.

I was thinking that the trade in offers may well be impacting on the second hand market. I did email a couple of premier dealers asking if they could let me know if any trade ins became available.

I am running an old lexicon MC1 right now and for films its very good but I have always struggled to get the fronts to integrate well through the stereo pre amp ( the lexicon is poor in straight stereo) so thought the only way forward was a processor which handles music well or a valve pre with an HT by pass option maybe.

I guess in the overall scheme of things its not urgent. A G68ADX with the room processing would have been nice but I cant justify the spend

Hi Ian,

I have a vanilla (not mm) but original 568.2. I have the original box and packaging with serial numbers but I can not find the manual or the serial cable. I have not used it for over a year but it was functioning perfectly then and has been in its box since. It was upgraded to the latest (last?) firmware version. I bought it off a fellow hitchhiker just over 3 years ago. Let me know if you are interested.

John

Hi Justin

from what I have read the 568.2 is quite a step up so I suspect you will be impressed. Southampton have non available but promise to let me know when one comes in.
