Hello gentlemen! I`m buying a new (used) amplifier, and I have the possibility getting my hands on either a Bryston 14B SST or a set of Musical Fidelity 750K`s (for the same price). Which of them should I choose? Both are great amps… I have demanding speakers, they dip pretty low in impedance, but I think both will do the job without any problem. Anybody heard the them and can advise me?
I'm aware this is not a Meridian product discussion so if my post is deleted I understand.. :-)
Thank you. Ole

No personal experience but:
Bryston offer a 20 year guarantee in the UK. They are universally praised for their reliability and are used in professional applications.
My friends Musical Fidelity self-destructed after ~2 years with uneconomic repair costs. MF have short product runs and quick product life-cycles. I thought they sounded cold and clinical with a lack of detail. And that was through Quad ESLs
They are equally praised for sound quality in the various reviews I have read.
Based on this I would go Bryston every time.
In the spirit of Spinaltap, I would like to confirm that I am not involved in the corrupt theft of a global sport.

Thanks gianni. My 6-7 year old 4BST is built like a tank and has never failed. But I find the MF's interesting and they received great appraisal in a stereophile review...but so did the 14B :-)

I had a bad experience with a Musical Fidelity monster power amp (I forget the name, though I know I used it with their MVX pre-amp). It shorted internally and was very expensive to repair. When it worked the sound was large and exciting.
On the other hand I still have The Pre-amp and a P170, both working and sounding fine after 20 years!
