On my modded Oppo the analog audio section wasn't deactivated. No problem at all.

But since I'm going to use the Oppo as HDMI-only I'm wondering if I can easily deactivate the analog audion section by myself.

Is it just pulling some plugs? Or do I have to cut some cables? Is it reversible?

Any thoughts?

You could probably unplug the power cable feeding the back of the analog board. If you are just using HDMI you could likely unplug the ribbon cable feeding it as well. For SPDIF modded players that ribbon cable needs to stay plugged in though.

Thanks Shawn. I've unplugged both cables. I'm using it HDMI only. Everything still works fine. Except for analog audio of course ;-)

Hmm. I wonder if this could benefit the vanilla (unmodified) Oppo in any way? I'm a bit doubtful, but you never know.

I'm a bit puzzled by this idea. I think I understand the concept of digital signals adversely affecting analogue circuitry, but what's in the analogue circuitry which could possibly affect digital signals?
