My collecton of remotes has now grown to crazy levels. I have seen some mention of the pronto 9600. Has any one sucessfully used a universal remote which will duplicate the functionality of the MSR+ as well as control other devices without having to spend weeks programming the thing?
I have seen mention of 1 way and 2 way devices, what are the advantages of a 2 way devices.
While I have done some simple programming, many of the remotes appear to be for custom installers or techies

a pronto 9600 is indeed for the techies and the custom installers.
With 2-way you can have for expample the volume readout on the remote.
Also it makes it possible to ask devices in which mode they are running etc. So you can make more reliable macro's

Well, we have multiple people here working with a pronto for Meridian control.
So with that you can get help i guess.
One-way RS-232 is quite easy to program.
