The way I read this, four cables are only needed in an eight DSP speaker surround processor-less environment.

There will never be a 4x coax MHR input for Meridian surround processors.

There will be MMHR (RJ45) input cards for future processors (who can say about the current ones).
I personally had a look at one brand new 861 wich new color at the Meridian factory some weeks ago. It was equipped with 4xMHR inputcard.

On your visit, was there any mention of an RJ45 MMHR Card for the 861

Also, was the 4 by SPDIF Card a single 4 by MHR Input Card or did it have 2 Pairs of Multichannel Inputs like the IE45

I know Meridian doesn't comment on New Products, but this is just getting ridiculous at this stage

Do you think that the card (which ever one) may not be announced until CES this year? or will it be brought out earlier. We know one is coming because the HD621 manual makes reference to it.

Actually I did not notice. I just had a closer look at the 4 inputs for MHR to see if it was labeled with CB and it was. RJ45 card was not mention on this visit.
