I would like to see the dealer training program notes made available which would probably put many - if not all - our setup queries to bed and avoid much of the guess work most of have to do to get the best from our systems.

Roadmaps for product developments that would not give away competitive advantage (EG: Speakerlink roll out program for DSPs)- or developments that are blatantly on the cards! (EG: MMHR input on processors - I can't believe M would deny this must be coming - or what's the point of having the output on the HD621!) These small concessions may help stem some of the bad feeling here on sharing knowledge of the future.

As a less contentious improvement I would love to see M release more piont of sale material - I am over the moon with my lighted sign and would very much like to get my hands on M directors chairs, CD wallets other displays etc.

Ow and how about aesthetic improvements on their company buy out products - eg Scalers, Sooloos and even the HD621 in G series clothing (its already the most expensive switcher/splitter in the world so adding another �500 to have it in a G box isn't going to make too much difference to sales now is it

& one final thing - Official package deals like HD621 + Processor + Slave Patch or Scaler + Projector deals that don't rely on the mood of your dealer!

Well, in my ignorance, I assumed there must be a cheap program that would do the conversion. Years ago it was possible to buy Macs loaded with programs to run PC stuff. (Sorry, but I don't remember the details)

The problem for companies like Meridian, who comparitivly have small sales to begin with, is that they probably aren't going to make any more money by doing a Mac port. Instead it takes a resource away from them for X months, and in that time you're paying their salary and taking them away from something else. I heard somewhere in the distant past that the guy who (maybe not now) works on MConfig is also the same person who works on a major part of the DSP code. 100% of Meridian owners want great bass/MRC/Trifield etc but only somewhere between 3-10% of the user base has to download a trial of VMWare Fusion.

Of course it's hard to put a figure on the value of goodwill, but then you'll get the Linux folk complaining about "discrimination" next

Perhaps a remote eye that incorporated a display mirroring that of the controlling processor. I would no longer then have to keep the G68 within my field of vision (lovely though it may be) and would be able to bury it somewhere behind me.

this was possibe on the 200 series,similar in size to the 512 i think it was called the 220 which had infrared reciever and display.shame we cant have it now

They need to address the unstable electronics and stop making hype about "ten times better error correction" in their CD/DVD-players as the latter should read "ten times more error prone than the average CD/DVD player". I don't trust Meridian on the player side of things anymore, I thought it was just me but I know of two other people with similar problems - and I don't even know any other Meridian owners... ...three out of three customers that are paying a premium and having reliability problems spanning from not reading discs (while the work room mini Denon happily plays the same record) and intermittent problems with the volume knob not working properly.

Maybe I have been fortunate before with umpteen players from various brands just ticking away like clockwork but it is a sinking feeling having a high end product (at a high end price) not knowing whether it is going in to service any time soon again and what will happen when warranty is run out. Which it will, soon.

My biggest regret was leaving the 500 series and thinking Meridian would carry the quality into the G series - what happened?!

Oh, and I too would love to be able to upgrade through my Mac.

One way of doing this is with a small 12v LCD display, put it in line of sight and use it to see the Meridians OSD.

In these days of power conservation it would be nice to have "power off" that turns the power off.

As it is, you must physically flip the power switch to power off completely.

Hallelujah!! I've been wittering on about the need for one of these ever since M decided to drop the OSD functionaility on the processors.
