Is M config a PC only programme? How have you Mac users managed to get use it?? I am just wondering what to do about configuring a processor if I buy one used (i.e without dealer support). I know you can do some things without a computer but is that just the rudimentary stuff?

Thanks

We should probably expand on this more in the wiki, but yes you can use a Mac.

There are several packages these days. The more hardware specific the package the more likely you won't have mconfig issues but the most painful for a Mac user. (i.e. booting XP). vs. packages that emulate at the application level.

I've used crossover om my mac but it was a bit tricky to set up the USB to serial side. I suspect Parallels/vmware and windows would be simpler but I've not tested it

I use MConfig on my Macbook using WinXP within OSX using Parallels. After a few teething problems it works absolutely fine! grin

I use VMWare to give me an XP environment on OS X, with a KeySpan USB to serial adapter - works a treat with the legacy config program.
