Hi

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH.....................

i love my 568 and 562 set but with the new hd formats what should i do?

(i know i dont use caps where i should - i have 1 hand so its easier)

now im considering lexicon with shawns 8x analog from my ps3

is there a way to pump the hd audio into the 568?

i dont really care about 7.1 but uncompressedd 5.1 well.... thats a more enticing prospect.

oh i never use stereo and rareley music i use my kit for HC and tv

Into a 568 or 568.2, no; into a 568.2MM, yes - use an HD621, or a Shawn modified CLUX or Octava, or a Shawn modified Blu-ray player.

You need a 568.2mm minimum for the new HD formats.

you know what im glad you said that to be honest ... i do like the exclusive nature of the Meridian stuff - oh and the fact it sounds awesome.

ive read lots about the clux and octava etc but i will be using ps3.

in simple terms what kind of outlay is needes to get hdd audio from 5 series Meridian?

or am i better spending on scary dsps?

it was all so easy and amazing when i got my first lg one box years ago!!lol

Nisnos,

I don't know if Lexicon has magically improved or not over the years, but I can say with all sincerity that I have never heard a musical Lexicon processor. I have always found their sound to be more like regular AV receivers than hi-end equipment. Out of all of my friends who had lexicons (4), I only know of one who still has it. And he has the system of the lowest pedigree, which I think tells you something.

Lexicon is Meridian's closest competetor when it comes to digital preamps. If Meridian didn't exist I'd own a Lexicon again. I found Trifield really good and Lexicon's sounded a lot like PLII Music. I did like Panorama mode once in a while on the Lexicon which was fun to play with.

One other plus is you can talk directly to Lexicon Reps on their forum which is nice. They also have a great trade in program that loyal Lexicon customers automatically invoke on every new processor.
