First time here.

When I upgraded my 568 to 568.2 a couple of years ago I neglected to add the MM, thinking that it would be useless with no Meridian sources. Now that the HD621 has arrived, I want to enjoy multi-channel lossless from my BD player, but of course cannot do so.

When I approached Meridian, they said the module is no longer available, so how do I obtain it? I'm in Taiwan.

About the only way is to sell your 568.2 and buy a used 568.2MM.

I approached Meridian directly about this just before Christmas as was given a price (though I'd have to go through a dealer) and a delivery time.

Did you go through a dealer or talk directly to the factory?

I think I sent an email (cannot find it), but if what you say is true, great news. What was the price? (UKP)

When I upgraded my 568 to 568.2 (about 5 years ago), the price was 700 for the .2 upgrade and a further 400 for the MM upgrade.

I was verbally quoted 430 for the upgrade, this was 'M's price, but in the UK I was told I would have to go through a dealer who would probably add a (small) handling fee.

Many thanks for the helpful comments. I will follow up with the local dealer and report.

Below is my email correspondence with Meridian USA showing that a 568.2 cannot be upgraded to a 568.2MM in no uncertain terms. Is the trick that one must have their dealer ask if the upgrade is available????

I`m afraid we no longer offer hardware upgrades to 500 series products. Firmware updates are still available and can be found at the following link:

Subject: 568.2MM

Hello,

You modified my original owner 568 to a 568.2 several years ago. Is it possible now to upgrade my 568.2 to a 568.2MM? Otherwise I don't think I will be able to use your upcoming HDMI box.

If yes what would the cost and turnaround be?

I telephoned the UK factory and was told that is available but that I cannot deal direct with Meridian, that I have to go through a dealer.

I was told 430 and 3 week turnaround. the 430 was the factory price and the dealer would add a handling charge.

My Taiwan distributor today confirmed that the upgrade is available, at UKP560. Couldn't be happier.
