Ed 2k for 60" and free 32 LCD 50" 1500
Mike Good grief! Mike, was it Pioneer UK themselves, or a dealer who was offering those prices? As Ed's asked, do you know if it was the 6090 or the 600A? Yikes, I'm slavering uncontrollably! Avariciously yours George

http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=ReplaygainIf all they were really touting is replaygain, then I guess it will be quite some time before Meridian does anything to Sooloos that will actually improve the audio performance of the server. I think it makes sense not to expect anything major at this stage. Maybe by early 4th quarter, because they will probably want to evaluate software improvements before considering expensive hardware improvement possibilities. And if the product is selling well under the current configuration, they wouldn't want to announce anything major that could stall sales momentum. I'm starting to think you work for a Meridian competitor. What's this crap about 4th quarter. You have no idea what they are up to, what they have done and what they plan to do.

Sorry Gents, I'm being a sleep-deprived halfwit here. Is the deal still running for Saturday and Sunday? (I.e. do I need to be heading to Bristol on Sunday morning?!) If I can get a 500a or 600a for 1.5k or 2k I'm on the road... Thanks,
Ed.

Was only joking Nick While 2,000 is never to be sniffed at, if anyone can lay their hands on a Kuro 600A or 6090 for a price even remotely close to 2,000, then they shouldn't Run to Bristol, but SPRINT!!

I'm starting to think you work for a Meridian competitor. What's this crap about 4th quarter. You have no idea what they are up to, what they have done and what they plan to do. George, If Meridian was doing something to improve the sound of the product in the near term (eg reduce jitter), I would have expected them to announce it at the show. Replaygain is not something that actually improves sound quality from what I can tell. It's a volume convenience feature. If that is all they are really promoting as Meridian advantages right now, then I'm guessing that it will be some time before they are able to improve the sound quality. Those improvements will come by changes to the software or hardware. I'm guessing it will take them a year to decide what to do, which is about 4q. But like I wrote, if sales are going great, it would be foolish to announce near term future improvements that might stall sales (especially if they are hardware improvements). If an audiophile was considering a purchase and then heard that Sooloos 808.1 was on the way, they might hold off on buying one. I would certainly hold off if I knew that Meridian was going to put in a new board to improve the sound.
