Got confirmation during the week from Meridian that my 861 I bought brand new in May 2000 can be updated to current v4 spec, that's made my day as I`ve been out of the stereo/surround scene with decent equipment for a while. Hopefully cat5 capability will be added too???
Current system: Meridian 861v6, HD621, DSP5200SE, Pioneer BDP-LX91, Pioneer Kuro KRP600A.
Nagra CDC used as CD transport, Chord Sarum digital coaxial lead
Future upgrades needed: Nagra Classic PSU, DSP5200SE HC, DSP3200 for rears or stick to stereo and get DSP 7200SEs!!

Once I get my new house sorted, I intend to have a room just for my Meridian system. Pioneer 60'' G9 kuro with 861 v4 and the newest 5200 front and centre and possibly my old DSP5000s or DSP33s for the rears or maybe 7.1. Undecided on Bluray/DVD player!! I'm getting too excited now!!

My Meridian system has been boxed in my flat for some time, I think this year is going to be a great time to get my system out and up to date in it's own room again. I also like that the picture on certain flat panels has eventually come of age after waiting a long time!!

I,ve asked Meridian to send me a price list and specifically the price of the upgrade, I'm still waiting. If not received soon will get back in touch with them. Once known I'll let you know, if this is ok?

Hi DP1
I know the feeling of excitement when you have the chance to get it all set up again. My last dedicated (small) TV/audio room became my daughter's bedroom five years ago. We extended the house over the summer, and I installed a full 5.0 rig two weeks ago. The last of the boxes was cleared last night and I'm thrilled to bits to be able to sit back with a glass of wine and enjoy!
