Well, what fun it would be to propose Nordost Odin cables; or Nordost Thor with Valhalla power cords. I would be drowned in contempt! Anyway, funds do not stretch that far.
When I had a 500 and 566 I thought that the 518 was a fabulously sophisticated bit of kit for domestic use.
DSP 8000s have to get the vote for most awesome sounding component (alas, not mine either).
But I would also like to vote for the music server that Meridian heas yet to supply us with.

My Bc Acoustique ACT A3 front speakers. hough they create a certain insecureness in my 5000C and DSP33 surrounds...
The Squeezebox (*2) and Tvix (*2) for 2-channel music and movies.
HD621, G98DH, G68ADV, Bc Acoustiqe ACT A3, 5200C DSP33, NuForce Reference 9 monoblocks, 2x SB3's, Velodyne DD-15 & DD-12 Subwoofers and a Meridian sub.

If I had taken this poll a month ago, I would have voted for the G68ADV and/or my DSP5500's. They are absolutely wonderful and have not given me one problem in the years I have enjoyed them. However, I voted for my Squeezebox Duetta only because it has opened up a completely new level of convenience. I have enjoyed listening to music that I hadn't listened to in years.
Looking at the results of the poll should give the mothership some indication of where they should concentrate for product.

Until this week, the 504 and 506 had been my faithful companions since 1996. They worked flawlessly, and each time I used them they brought a smile to my face. There is something special about owning a Meridian component. Alas, I sold them to finance the purchase of a G68ADV. I expect that my 568.2MM will sell shortly, and when it does it will be the first time in twelve years a 500 series component hasn't graced my listening room. Bittersweet. I can't imagine selling my DSP5500s - the DSP7200s and DSP8000s are out of reach.

My alltime favorite component is my Genesis 201 main speakers. Sound great and look really impressive too! A close second is my 861v4 processor. What a great piece of kit and field modifiable too!
My alltime value for money component was my Lumagen HDQ video processor. For well under $2K I got a great scaler.

my 808i... after several krell, linn, and other sources (including a modified magnavox many moons ago) i could not believe what the 808 seemed to "pull" from my CD's.... the 808 paved the way for a move to more Meridian gear... has anyone heard the 808.2?

I guess the decider would be which component are you least likely to upgrade. For me it is the Majestic full range Sound Labs speakers. The integration of electrostat bass with the rest is awesome. At the end of it all? I've said so, so often I dare not repeat it! John

I guess I would also have trouble accepting the loss of any of my system's parts!
I fell in love with Meridian's M1 speakers many (too many!) years ago, was totally bowled over by the 808 first time I heard it (compared to the G98) and I have been to the moon and back with the 8ks. It is incredible how easy it is to tell a 'good' recording from a bad one, but listening to a good DVD-A disc is an absolute joy, so the 800/861 combination is very much part of it!

I can't decide!!! I love the sound I'm getting out of my system now. I love the picture. But renovating the bottom floor so soon it's time to box everything up. Gah! The thing I'm most proud of is the sum of it's parts. I don't know what option that is George :p 3 things stand out though: DSP5200 Speakers - They produce sound very faithful to what is present on the recording. An absolute joy to listen to. G68J - Simply a very cool piece of kit that works and produce great routing of sound signals  Sim2 HT380 - 1080p projector, I'm simply floored what this projector does for Blu-Ray and HD-DVD.
DSP8000SE, DSP7200SEHC, DSP5200SE sides, DSP7200SE rears, 861v8, 210, Sim2 Ultranero 4, Stewart Cinecurve 2.35:1, XEIT CM-5E Anamorphic lens, Dune HD Duo Cinema 8K and Wireworld Platinum 48G HDMI -> UHD722 -> Shunyata Omega Ethernet. the components I have are all carefully chosen during the last couple of years, they all serve a particular purpose:
508/24: of its analogue sound that can not be beaten by any other spinner in its price range
502/557: the rhythmic heart in my system
Xavian: these speakers are like Aoede
Nordost: SPM interlink are top notch, fast, neutral, very unforgiving
Siltech: mains cable, they do get the best out of every component
Whilst the constant itch of enjoying every upgrade, I am inclined to choose the ones that are least expected to be replaced over time unless I spend an obscene amount of $$...
So my votes are for:
502/557's
Siltech mains
But this is for stereo only, I get the impression that many of you are more into HT ... George could this be another poll: who are into Stereo/Home Theatre?
