I have a 568.1 which has worked perfectly until this afternoon (used it last nite and all was well). Today, the green standby lite illuminates on the display, but neither the remote nor the front panel Source button will turn it ON and active. When power cycled with rear switch, the dipslay iluminates 2 square blocks briefly, then "Meridian 568" briefly, then the standby light. Have also unplugged and power-cycled with no change. No other changes in cables, etc.

Any suggestions as to what may be wrong &/or how to fix? If I can't get a quick easy fix, will probably toss it and grab a 568.2.

Thanks...gregg

Have you tried re-typing it?

if you press 'display' does it show anything ?

Re-type as suggested above to start with. If it won't even do that it'll help to know.

Thanks for the tips!

I power cycled again and unplugged power cable for several minutes. Rebooted and it came on and works fine! During the time that it was not working, pressing Display also did nothing. Have not retyped it, but may do so just to be on the safe side.

It all seems fine now, but I'm worried that it's going to start acting up. May be a good time to think about upgrading since the 568.1 is getting a bit long in the tooth. The G61 looks reasonable in terms of functionality that I require and price (used) - altho, I hesitate giving up the balanced analogue outs to speakers. The G68 has too big of a form factor.

Can the G61 be programmed with a USB cable, rather than serial?
