Hello to you all. Maybe you can help me out.
I connected a Wii with a component cable to my G98. The Wii is set to 16:9 and the scaler mode also. In spite of that I get a picture in 4:3 mode. Even when I put the Wii in stand-by.Then a blue screen appears in a 4:3 mode. What am I doing wrong? By the way, my JVC lcd-screen is set on HDMI source and 16:9 mode.
Greetings, Paul.

Press the green (function+green?) button on the MSR remote to change aspect ratio of the input.

Hello Ian,
Thanks for your reply, but your tip doesn't do the job.
Paul.

I see on another thread that you may have issues with IR control. When you press green, does your G98 display cycle through different aspect ratios? It should say something like native, 16:9, 4:3 etc. If it does not, then this tip may still work. Reasons for it not working are IR issues or software version - this function was added in 1.73 and later. Basically it controls the input aspect ratio.

Having just read your post, your issue may be caused by the video input setting on the G98 and what your Wii is outputting. The G98 will not transcode component to HDMI if the component input is progressive or HD. Possibly you have the Wii set to output progressive? If you are outputting HD or progressive, the G98 video input should be set to bypass not component but the component input will not appear opn HDMI. If the component input is interlaced SD, then set the G98 input to component - you should then get an output on the HDMI output.

Hello guys,
Putting the scaler mode to native did the trick.
Thanks again for your replies.
