Hi all

Can one contact Meridian directly to ask them to service your equipment?
If so, can you deliver & collect the equipment yourself?
Is there a standard service charge?

FYI the equipment consist of G98 & G68, 6x DSP33s & D2500 sub.

I imagine they would check it out for you but just what "service" is required on this type of equipment?

I recently contacted Dave Hall at Meridian on this very subject as the HDMI on my G98 isn't functioning (a common problem I gather). As I live a long way from a Meridian dealer it is easier for me to send direct. Dave said this was not a problem and send it address to Service Department at Meridian. I have not yet done this but doesn't sound like it is going to be a problem. Hope this helps, Bernie

Just to add my 2p: If Meridian are organising collection and/or delivery via courier, it is polite to ensure that when the courier arrives, someone is available to give/receive the item. This seems to make the logistics easier for M to manage as they are, after all, providing this service out of the 'kindness of their heart'.

Does anyone know how best to contact DH? 6 months ago my DSP5000C developed a fault, and has been collecting dust ever since! I had a single response from Dave back in May (which didn't comment on my 5000C problem), but nothing else despite 3 chasing emails. I also tried phoning a dozen or so times, but when the HQ reception tried to put me through to Dave, his line was never answered.

It's frustrating frown not being able to get the centre speaker repaired and serviced, particularly since I want to upgrade the 5000 & 5000C as soon as it is fixed (and so a sale is being missed out on by M!). Co-ordinating this is not easy, since I live in the wilds of Scotland, my original dealer is down in East Anglia and I'm spending half my time in LA.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. In 15 years of using Meridian kit, and numerous components, this year is the first time I've needed to get support directly, and I've been very disappointed.

Cheers, Neil

They are busy boys

Ship directly to them by tracked courier.

Use Meridian packing (not lossless....)

Roger imho

Emails Can easily get into spam filters or ignored just by the amount they recieve.
A Good Old Fashioned Letter may help, followed up by an Email and/or phone call, or vice versa.

I have never had a problem getting a prompt responce and fantastic service directly.
Dave Hall is 'the man' but I bet he gets busy.

There is no reason your speaker cant be up and running fairly quickly.

Cheers, Chris smile

No 18 in the Hall of fame smile I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best:
GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

Thanks for the replies.

I don't want to ship it down until I've made contact, and the speaker delivery is expected.

I'll try snailmail, since email & telephoning have not proved fruitful.

Cheers, Neil
