I have almost all working now. Much better than my AVP. Will post why later. But I can not find a feature anywhere that I was sure was available!

Can't I set a default volume level for Trifield, and then one for DTS-THX, and DD-THX?

They are different so I thought it would be available, but I have not seen this anywhere.

Can it be that this is NOT an option on the 568?

The option you are looking for is called volume on startup. However, it is a global setting. You can't have different volumes for different presets.

It is located under setup -> advanced tab for 861 in Windows app. I can't find that option in the 568 setup.

It is same in 568, but as you say it is GLOBAL!! I saw that, but could not believe they did not have settings for Presets...or at least Sources.

Thanks for reply and have a Happy Holiday!

Hi guys,
I have a 568 and read this info. Then looked under settings and could not find any way to change the start-up volume. Is this feature only available for the 861?

Thanks

Al

Al, you need to look in "Settings"-->"Setup" and there you'll find "Volume on startup".

I do not see this any place under "settings, setup". If I try and do a setup for an 861 I do see a place to enter the power on volume level. But I do not see it for my 568. Can someone help?

Thanks.

Al

Al, I tried to create a new settings file and you are right, the "Volume on startup" doesn't appear from the start. I guess you first need to go to "File" and "Fetch from products". The 568 will upload its current settings to your software and then the option of setting the startup volume should be there.

Just to confirm: I have the 568, and the volume on start-up setting is definitely there. I changed it a few weeks ago.

I called Meridian.
It turns out that if you are using digital speakers as I am. This feature is not available. The software only allows you to set a power up volume level if you are using analog speakers.

Oh well.

FYI -

The 561 software permits you to set a global volume at start-up, with or without DSP speakers.
