Does anyone know of any alternative repair outfits for M kit in the USA? Meridian USA has had my 557 power amplifier for over 7 weeks now, they have been working on it for over 5 weeks and cannot fix it! I'd like to consider another reputable repairer, but the irony is that I live in Atlanta. I delivered my amp to M myself and could also collect it from them in person - it should have been so easy. Apparently "the fault is the unit's DC relay will not allow the unit to stay on. Unfortunately it is not the relay that is faulty." I'm very frustrated. Suggestions welcomed.
I have copied Mr Dave Hall at M UK on previous emails to M USA, but so far with no success.

Hey 123, A couple of suggestions: 1)Keep your cool when dealing with either M-USA or M-UK. Ya get more flies with honey and all that... 2)Get on the phone, first to Marc Koval, US VP of technology. I think he is M-USA's head tech honcho. Pleasantly discussing your frustration with the XO will likely get ya much farther than grinding the deck hands! All my recent interactions with him were stellar but be patient trying to get him on the line. He is a busy guy. Oh, probably good to follow up the call with a PM/email. Marc actually keeps one eye on the site and is a HH forum member. His HH user handle is Marc K to PM him. 3)Failing the above suggestions working out (and I don't see how it could), phone Dave Hall at M-UK rather than emailing him. England is 6 hours ahead of us so call first thing in the AM. I'm in Canada and M service in my country is supposedly looked after by the distributor, Aralex. However, Aralex is spectacularly incompetent and to add insult to injury, Canadian pricing is wacked versus US pricing. The M-USA guys have bent the rules each time I've needed service on my extensive M gear collection. On the whole they are a good crew and the boss, Marc, is fantastic. Good luck. Happy Trails! I had a similar issue with my 557 when it went for repair. I live in Chattanooga and dropped it off at M USA. They fiddled around with it for a couple of months, but finally returned it to HQ for repair. It came back to me after about 7 (?) months.

Glad to hear its working out. My experience with most things is if youre happy with the result, it never hurts to write a real old fashioned letter of thanks. Sure you're a paying customer, but at the same time, most personal letters most companies get are letters of complaint and the nice ones tend to get remembered.
best regards, Jerry
