Although presumably SACD would still need to be converted from DSD to PCM in order for the 861 to handle it (i.e. equal to but not superior to the DVD-Upgrades solution)? Sure. The older Oppo DV-970 did this by default and the newer 980H has the option of either DSD or PCM on the HDMI output. I just ordered one. Kal

I play SACD analogue in on a IA45 (self installed in a 861 upgraded from 2.6 -> 3 -> 4 )
Works perfectly well, including bass mangement.
Sold all M equipment

I have a Denon DVD 3930 player that is being modded by dvdupgrades as we speak. When it comes back it will have three SPDIF outs so I can route digital sacd-signals (converted from DSD to PCM) to my 861...
