I was wondering if anyone owned / owns a 808 or 808i? Would like to hear anything regarding reliability, disc drawers or anything relevant to a potential purchaser before plonking down loads of cash!  Many thanks howie

Yep....absolutely top drawer. Lot of money,true, but haven't regretted it one moment.

I have an 808 as well as DSP8000. I tried several before settling on this. Without doubt it is the finest CD player there is.
IMO the Meridian 800 Series has an uncanny ability to present accurate sound in a way that is totally engaging. Yes, 808 is expensive, but the pleasure it has given me is beyond value.

I have the 808i and its perfect in my setup.
I would absolutly recommend it

PerS Thanks PerS. Can I ask what inputs you have on your 808i (XLR, RCA etc) and if you are using the 808i as a DAC using the digital inputs? Thanks howie
