Meridian's sound and picture at Bristol was the best I can remember. I was lucky enough to attend a demo run by Bob. One delight was a Schubert sonata where the piano and viola sounded incredibly realistic. Maybe not surprising for Meridian but an amazing contrast from everything else at the show. The video was superb too. They gave first class demos of HD and incredible DVD results in 2.35 aspect ratio from the MF1. This company just goes on getting better and better. Unfortunately I may need to save up for the projector :-( No sign of F80 though.

Was the HD from a Meridian (-badged) source)?
In the spirit of Spinaltap, I would like to confirm that I am not involved in the corrupt theft of a global sport.

Enjoyed Meridian's demo yesterday and the chance to talk at the "static" space in the ballroom.
The demo was using a Schneider anamorphic lens in front of the MF1. The setup cut off the top & bottom of the menus on DVD but for the movie clip (start of Cars) was great.
I also noticed they ran the whole clip at 93 which gave great impact as the cars raced from one side to the other.
The HD clip came from a "server" with no indication that this was a M product.
The F80 is waiting until press launch (Tuesday iirc) so they can have control over the message.

If he were then, later on, all the claims made for the product would prove to be untrue when tested.
