We saw it at HQ and it looks good. Bob said it sounds fantastic, I am happy to believe him. We look forward to the first person to demo it, with which speakers and why? This could go far IMHO for the non techy Mucic lover. Easy on the planning permission dept with S.W.M.B.O. Cheers, Chris

Yes, with Digital Power amps and no provision, that I can see, for DSP. (I could be wrong) A wider customer base seems to be the order of the day. Cheers, Chris

At the Meridian Q&A, I questioned Bob Stuart on the choice of digital rather than analogue amplification in the G95. Furthermore, I asked why they had chosen that particular type of digital amplification over that, say, of ICE. Was it simply that they didn't want to pay royalties to B&O? The third part of my question queried on the extent to which such digital amplification would find its way into other Meridian products.
His response was that the smaller form factor of the G95, and the power output required, suited digital amplification. It will also run cool at sustained levels of output as a consequence - this suiting enclosed locations. At 6ohmns output, the G95 is capable of producing 150watts per channel.
As we all witnessed for outselves, Meridian don't source components for their products from outside. They designed and produce the digital amplification inside the G95. They had tested between several choices in digital amplification, and believe the design eventually chosen for the G95 is far superior to the ICE design - well, they would, wouldn't they?
Furthermore, Bob Stuart stated that although the G95 contained digital amplification this did not mean that other Meridian products would similarly follow the same route.
For me, the one dissappointment is you can't connect analogue and digital loudspeakers in seperate zones - as confirmed by Des Ford. Ideally, I wanted to run home-cinema from my plasma-in-the-corner in my living-room in one zone while assigning a second zone to DSP's for serious music listening in the same room (sigh).

Given Bob Stuart's assertion that they had developed superior 'D' class amplification for the G95 I would welcome a white paper from Meridian explaning its significance. In the meantime, fellow HH's may be interested in this item on D-Class amplification... http://www.avreview.co.uk/news/article/mps/UAN/999/v/1/sp/
