Meridian is making a serious mistake in the way they are handling the 861 HDMI situation, both in lack of a more detailed announcement and no v1.1(2) solution. I am also considering a switch to another manufacturer.

Regarding the 800, it`s chroma error performance is near the bottom and Meridian should have replaced the MPEG decoder a long time ago.

I think Meridian should open up the architecture for the bus in the 861 so other companies could produce cards for the 861 as well. Regarding a M mediaserver I think Meridian has proven that they have difficulties catching up with software development already. I wish instead for a really good soundcard with drivers for Mac and Vista. And a ethernet port so a processor could connect to a server from any vendor like MS 2003.
