I am attempting to uplaod the latest formware to my 861 (V4)

When I load the firmware upload software and I request to identify the hardware I receive a positive response.

However, when I begin the upload I am asked to turn 861 off then then on.. I do this but unfortunately upload will not proceed

I have tried this a number of times with no success

I have not participated in forum for a couple of years so excuseme if this question has previously been answered

Thanks

Tony;

How are you turning the 861 off and on, via the front panel standby switch; or the back panel hard power off?

Cheers,

Try the front panel off/on then; see if that works. I thought it was the back panel power that was required; but it has been a while.

It's possible that your serial port isn't properly recovering from the power cycle to detect the availability.

Best,

Tony,

Does your PC have a native RS232 serial port or are you using a USB to Serial adaptor?

If you are using a USB to Serial adaptor then you are best using the 'Keyspan' this model is well proven for use with M. equipment.

www.keyspan.com/products/USB/usa19hs/homepage.spml

You need to cycle the power switch on the rear panel.

Cheers
