This is a plea to anyone with regard to importing goods from USA, in particular Atomiser and Mr Meridian...
I am seriously considering these 8000's in the restaurant but just want to know if there were any pitfalls i should be looking for, import costs etc. i understand duty and VAT but who decides the value on them? could they be declared at $10,000?
all help appreciated in pursuit of the ultimate system!

Remember that they'll need UK transformers too. I bet they're fairly expensive for something with that much power. I'd love to know how much if you do ask the mothership.

Most likely the value will be set to the same price as the freight insurance.

Last I heard, HR Customs and Excise were the last people you wanted to have investigate you for fraud! Aren't they the one department who are virtually above the law when it comes to seizing and investigating you?
Harry is about right (insurance value is what it usually looked at, but they may check on real worth since its valued "high" anyway), and you don't want to loose 17k if they are damaged during shipping either.
