After reading the many posts- I still am confused what is the best way for my system-I have a full active ATC system- My fronts(100'S) and center(c6) both go down to 32HZ- my sides and rears(20-a-2's)go down to 60 and the C6 sub down to 18-I also have the Danley "Tower of Power" run by a Crown K2 which is supposed to go down to single digits-My room is 17x28 and fully treated-What do you guys feel would be the best way to set the bass management for this system- thanks so much for all your advice- gary

If you put more info on what Meridian Kit you have, the relevant expert may well just jump in.

My system is set at 80 hz as in the manual, seems good to me.

I dont think this is helping but it may keep you on top of the list a bit longer.
More Chance to be noticed.

Cheers, Chris smile

No 18 in the Hall of fame smile I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best:
GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

I had a look at the ATC site and can't exactly recognise your side/rears. It looks as though you have the Concept 6 multi channel system with the front upgrade path. Given that, it would be really interesting to have ATC's views on x-over - you have made a considerable investment in their equipment and, in your shoes, I'd look for some customer support from them.

I think that you have quite a challenge to integrate such a disparate system. I still use the legacy config programme and am not familiar with the new GUI version but, in principle, I'd play with the following approaches:

1) Set all speakers to small and the subs to 2, mono. Set the x-over to 60 or 65Hz. Experiment from 60 to 70Hz but, personally, I'd keep under 80Hz if you can because, at that level and above, I can definitely tell where bass is coming from.

Variations on the theme here would be to set the subs as 2 - centre, surround. They're both very competent subs but you might get more from your tower this way.

2) Set the fronts to large. Centre has to be small, I think. It does in the legacy config program. Set the surrounds to small and x-over as above. Personally, I think I'd prefer option (1) because the fronts are not truly full range and you may find them sweeter by filtering the bass below 60Hz to the subs.

Others here have more experience of this and are au fait with the latest M-Config software so hopefully they'll chime in. Without teaching Granny to suck eggs, I'd recommend keeping a note of the variations you try and making several versions of your config file as you go. That way, you'll save repeating yourself too much...

Interesting problem to have and I hope you enjoy the playing around to resolve it. Would be very interested to know ATC's take on it.

I e-mailed ATC but never got a response?- any other thoughts would be appreciated- As far as the subs go- My thinking(may be wrong) was to use the C6 for music and the Danley for movies??
