Is there one or two phono module for Meridian 502.
One for MM et one for MC or one for both?

The MM and MC phono modules are different. Bear in mind also that the 502, being a dual mono design, takes different modules to the ones that fit in the rest of the 500 series components.

I knew that 502 have a specific phono ( dual mono) module.
Do you know if the 502 is much better than the 501.2 or if the difference is thin?

The 502 is better than the 501, you can tell the difference. The phono modules are also different from what I remember.The 501 and 551 used the same modules both MM and MC the MM was the the 515 and the MC was the 516 could have the numbers the wrong way round smile , the 502 used two modules, one for each channel, can't remember their numbers and again they came in two choices MM/MC.

I see that you have a 557 power amp - you will notice a big improvement if you upgrade to a 502 instead of using the pre-amp output of your 551. I used to have a 551, and have used a 502-557 combination for some time now. laugh laugh (one for each channel)

can you tell me what i will get with 502 over a 501 or 551 preamp section?
