A question for the experts concerning the tuner section of the GG51.
I'm thinking of buying one of these receivers second hand and wish to know if the AM tuner section covers both, the MW *and* LW bands, or is coverage MW only? The manual and spec sheets seem to indicate that both bands are covered, but the current owner of the example I am looking at has informed me that his example is MW only.
Could it be that 120 V export models are MW only, while 240 V models are MW/LW?
Also, am I correct in asssuming that the G01 & G51 are pretty much the same design other than the power amp section?
Thanks in advance.

Further to this question, an unofficial UK source has advised me that the LW band is blocked off on US models.
Now I am curious to know whether the LW band is present at all. Do any forum members living in Europe own one of the G series models with FM/AM tuners, the G01, 51 or 91? If so can they please check to see whether the LW band is actually covered?
Thanks.

As no-one else has answered your question; I would suggest obtaining the serial number of the unit you intend buying - and then send Meridian an email with your question.
