Hello All,

Today I was traying to up date by mean of some firmwares (G68_13; G68mft20; C0004C; B8404C; E00011; F8404C) the software on my G68XXV. All firmwares were downloaded and stored seamlessly. The problem was that I pushed the "turn on/off" button to reset manually the controller and then I unplugged the power supply cable. I plugged again the cable and turned on the controller but it did not turn on!!!!!!!! It started doing a noise as it was turn it on and turn it off (but actually it did not on/off just started doing this noise), I left it do that for 5 minutes, then I unplugged againg the power cable for 5 minutes, plugged it again but it continued doing the same noise. After all this time I unplugged the power supply cable.

What can I do? The controller is not turning on and it is not working!!!!! Any aideas?

Jose

Reflash the firmware.

At this point, (IMO) you have nothing to lose.

I agree, there is a very good chance it will take even though the unit appears dead. Might take a couple attempts and reboots.

How are you connecting the laptop to the G68? There are some issues with certain USB->Serial adaptors, especially those with a Prolific chipset.

I think Meridian may have released a fix for this in the latest winfup. According to the release notes for build 2525, it is now possible to throttle the serial link.

The G68 may well appear dead, but more often than not, the serial port is still active and will accept a reflash.

Certainly worth a reflash or two, three, four etc.

Jose:

Did you ever have any success with your G68?

Just curious.

Yep! I've had connection between laptop and processor in the past. I've set up the Room Correction, I've changed parameters, etc. I do not know what happened this time, the unit is now with the dealer!!

At the moemnt I am using a "petit" Jamo DVR50 controlling my G98DH, Pioneer 989Av and driven Jamo's speakers!

Regards

Jose

Nightmare - don't touch firmware, especially if it's already working.
