Given the system in the originating post I would try a few things.'
#1. try all speakers set to small with the xover set to 80hz
#2. try setting the fronts to large using the protection function- there is a calculator in the Meridian software. Try setting the center to small and the rears and sides to small. A variant of this is setting the center to large too and using protection.
#3- heres a fun one. if you can position the sub to be near the fronts- put the sub in as many places that are near the fronts as you can and see which location produces the loudest result (use a test tone or a CD with low bass). Then run the interconnects for the front left and right into the sub and use the subs crossover to crossover at ~60 hz and then run the high pass out of the sub to your amplifier. Set the main left and right to large with no protection and set the center sides and rears to small and use the 80hz xover in the software. You now have all the bass going to the fronts. Then be sure to tell the software you have no subwoofer! What this does is send the LFE track to the large mains, which now have a sub as part of their system. The LFE is from 0-120hz so your ears can place it, but because of the layout above you will only have the LFE from around 60hz and below going to the sub.
