Yes, Chris - for music also the D1500 sounds musical and nice. You don't really hear it's there, but turn it off and you hear it's missing. But there are a lot of better subs for subs (Submarine movies).

How critical would the placing be for two subs? If you for instance by space constraints only have a couple of places to choose from?

How would it be to combine an analogue sub and a Meridian digital like D1500?

Guys,

Thanks for the reply. I took receipt of my 5 x 5200 today alongside the 861 and I must say - WOW! The base did an excellent job in filling my room and in fact did a better job than the B&W 804's with a sub. Thank you everyone for the candid insight and although I am enjoying what I have now, I suspect I'll be adding a base unit sometime this summer.

Now the dilemna, to buy a base or replace my Denon 9000 DVD player.

John,

Shouldn't the bass be doing an excellent job of filling your room?

If it's base that's filling your room then you've got an awfully big base laugh

Congrats on getting the DSP5200s -- you've got a marvelous set of speakers!

Cheers,
