Hi, As much as I would luv to have DSP speakers, I will have to save up a bit. (I do not think I am the only one in that boat).

I have a Nad916 6cha Pwr amp which I use to Bi Amp my Meridian A500 speakers, the other two amp channels I use to Run some Kef 70s As side Channels. From a 565 518 596 set up.
I have an M33C and M30 Mk2's for rears and A M1500 Sub.

I have a Pure Dab Tuner which sounds Great. The MSR+ Controls it well.

As for the sound? Well, I am very happy with it.

I was listening to BBC Radio 3 Late Juntion the other day, noted for the wierd stuff. Sounds Just hang in the Air, Speakers dissappear, Bliss.

Well recorded Material has shape, Hieght, Depth, Feel, Texture, Shall I go on? Perhaps Not.

Cheers, Chris smile

No 18 in the Hall of fame smile I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best:
GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

I use the following:-

Sources Denon DVD2910/Squeezebox 2 (modded)

Processing 518/568.2MM

Amplifiers 557s

Speakers Shahinian Arcs (Front) Quad 22L (Rear)

System works well for me, I got a good deal on the Denon and it offered DVI-D and HDMI output which isn't available on the 598. Not in an urge to change anything so I must be happy with it!

Interesting I also have a pair of D600's and in analogue mode the 557s/Quad22L's comfortably out perform them, but the D600's with a further Squeezebox make a great second room system!

To follow Perceptive's template:

Sources: Oppo DVD player + SqueezeBox 2
(the Oppo has outstanding video quality and is only $199. See the Secrets review).

Processing: G68J

Amplifiers: 557s for front LCR + Parasound for rears

Speakers: Ruark CL20 all round (5)

I love having matched speakers across the front 3 for movies and Trifield.

David.

Hmm right, that's it!!

Vince, the next time my wife says I have a sickness and I am taking all this M kit and home theatre too serious (and spending too much money), I am sending her in your direction... watch out!! lol

By the way, the Sound Anchor custom stand that you had made for the Big Rig centre, do you mind if I ask how much it cost? I need to get something very similar made up. How much does it weigh, if I was thinking of getting one sent to Australia? How solid and well built are they?

Cheers,

Chris

Hey Chris,

I'm a rather fortunate man. The (TV Producer) Wife thinks great Audio-Visual stuff is as cool as I do. She is a little more into the Visual and I'm a little more into the Audio. She was rather pleased when I recently told her that the "spare" M gear I'd accumulated would be set up in her office.

As far as the Sound Anchors stands go- I'd stated in an earlier post on this forum this year that the Sound Anchors stands were the best I'd ever seen. These pre-filled (heavy), fully welded stands are extremely rigid. The built-to-order center channel stand was a definite sonic improvement over the substantial sand filled 4 pillar DesignProgression stand I'd been using previously. If memory serves me correctly, the landed cost of all three stands was about $1500CAD.

Happy Trails!
