I'm thinking about buying a used 508.20 and use it as a transport for my G68?
Does it play burned cds? Any other "common" issues to look for?

All Meridian Players play CD R's No problem as far as I Know.
It will be a great transport with a 20 bit DAC.
As long as the price is right.
Enjoy, Chris.
No 18 in the Hall of fame I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best: GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

Surely a 3-beam (2xxxxx serial number) MkII 500 transport would be a cheaper option? Unless of course you want the flexibility of the built-in DACs.
The last 508.20 went for 590 on eBay. The last two MkII 500s went for 405 and 460.
