Hi all,
I recently bought a pair of early version (probably 18bit) of DSP5000, but screw-in spikes are missing. After some searching, I understand that Meridian use M6 or M8 thread screw, but how about thread length? Too long or too short is no good I suppose...
PS: this is my first post. So hello everyone

Spike thread length is not a problem. I can't remember what spike I used on my 5000's (replaced by 5200), but I think I used M6's.
To avoid costly mistakes I would borrow both a M6 and a M8 spike from a dealer to check which one fits.

I bought a pair of MkI 5000s which did not have the spikes. My dealer contacted Meridian who provided a full set free of charge

I believe they are M8. Shouldn't need foot caps on a carpet.

The foot caps are only for hard floors, and are best avoided anyway...they sound atrocious!
Cheers

Louis,
I'm guessing you didn't buy them from a dealer so phone Meridian's support team direct if you don't have a local dealer relationship.
Welcome to the forum btw.

Nick,
There always seems to be confusion about M6 or M8 sizes for the spikes. Can you provide a definitive guide to sizes used by Meridian on the various speakers?
My own interest is for D6000s (old non-DSP) and DSP5k and DSP2500sub.
I tried looking up the specs of M6/M8 to see about measuring them but that just confused me further.
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Chris
