Isn't the beauty of Meridian kit that you have dozens of DSP modes and parameters to play with which have a marked effect on the sound as opposed to the tiny (dare I say, sometimes non-existant) effects of cables etc. And DSP tweeks, as well as being endless, are free!

Main system - Sources (Kodi-HTPC, Vero 4k, FireTV, Sat) into Trinnov Altitude 32 (8-16) (+Roon), Trinnov Amplitude 8 amp & Vivid Audio (Giya G3, V1.5) and REL Stentor III speakers. Others: F80 + Raspberry Pi and other Pi systems.

Once, twice, and thrice I say to thee: Get thee to Woolworths, heathen!

Actually , if you define tweaking or being able to tailor sonics to your needs as fun , you are far better off with a DSP active system. In the first place the speakers have built in controls and you can always add in a DSP processor like a digital parametric to allow you to fiddle to the nth degree to your hearts content. (read my review of one , the Z-sys RDP-1 http://www.tnt-audio.com/ampli/rdp1e.html ) If you like the speakers house sound , the solution is very elegant , a transport and speakers with the ability to mess with bass , treble , midrange etc. If you have a few other boxes in the system , you can always mess with digital cables.
Roon/Tidal, SBT, Trinnov ST2 , Twin Devialet D premiers, Vivid Audio Giya G1 Spirits, dedicated and treated room. Meridian gear: 568.2mm and DSP5000's acting as TV speakers.

Hi Strabat,
I have both my analog & digital systems integrated but separated for the following reason:
I like my vinyl records to stay analog. If I wanted them digital I would purchase CD versions for which I have. Vinyl records lose their fullness, imaging and their ambiance when digitized. Plus if you really are into vinyl (audiophile) than you do not want to manipulate or change it but to listen to it as the artist and or engineer meant for you to hear it. Isn't that why you purchased it? You lose all that when you digitized it.
I think you should try this. Get a preamp like the VAC limited Edition W/phono. It has a cinema passthrough. When listening to digital sound you can allow the Meridian to control all sound and when listening to analog, the analog system controls itself. It is the best of both worlds and all it cost was another preamp.
My system Meridian G68 & 598DP Proc & DVD VAC Limited Edition Preamp Simaudio Moon Amps, 3 W6's & 1 W3 Verity Audio Parsifal front speakers Revel Voice Center & S30 rear speakers 2 Rel Statium III Subs Vpi Mk4 turntable w/sama motor ClearAudio TQ-1 arm w/lyra needle Pass alpha ono needle preamp Runco 710 DLP HD2+ with Stewart Firehawk screen Dish network 921 PVR Marantz DV6400 SACD 2 PS Audio 300's for source equipment Chang 9600 conditioner for the amps Cable by FMS
Analog and digital are both great in what they do and the way of do it but should stay apart for you to appreciate each to their full potential or FUN as you put it so well.
